The Happiest and Sad Moment Being Grandparents
It is about 5 months since Kecik joined our happy family. Her presences make our routine life more contented and cheerful. But in the last 2 month I had notice Kecik’s strange behavior that worried me a lot. She was not as naughty as before, she used to always being playful and like to ‘mengempeng” with us. The transformation not only in her emotion but also affect her physical in which her stomach become bigger and bigger each day…
Yahuuuu!! We have become grandparents, adopted one for sure... Kecik delivered all her kittens safely that night (23/06/2008, 8.40pm to 9.40pm). A few minutes before that she make noises request for food, once she finish eating enough food, immediately she run into box the we prepared earlier for her delivery. The within a few second she start the pushing activities and it took several minutes for her to deliver the first kitten. Then she struggling cut it umbilical cord (tali pusat), eat the placenta (uri) and tidy (liking) it whole body. Soon after that the second kitten came out and the same processes happen again but the delivery process took place faster than the first one. The process continued until the last (fifth) kitten and thanks God for given me the opportunity to saw one of His Sign of Power and Merciful.
Here I want to share the names of our cute little baby cats.
First (White with big black spot) – Tompok
2nd (beech + few white and black) – Pungut(Kitty)
3rd (Brown) – Brown
4th (white + few beech and black) - Kutip
5th (White with big black spot) – Unknown
The fifth kitten died a few days later pressed by Kecik during her sleep. No name given but its body buried in our front little courtyard garden.
The story will continue with more adventures with Kecik and her remaining 4 kittens and not forget to mention, their step father…Abu..
